Future-Worm And The 54 Days Of Snordfest

Fyootch and Danny go back to a time whence Snordfest wasn’t a thing due to the complete embarrassment by our favorite worm over the recovery of a tape that featured some sort of horrible production on it. The townsfolk look up to the glow worm, but Fytootch sends him (maybe it’s a her?) packing.

It doesn’t take long, but a HUGE gobbler monster comes and chases the townsfolk for a while until Fyootch mans up and becomes the glow worm that saves the day and the Snords.

 Lost In The Mall

Doug gets left at the mall by mistake by his possible materialistic family while shopping for gifts. By the time they go back to get him, Doug’s already part of a group called the G.O.T.H.S. who want to take down Mrs. Claus and her alleged gingerbread elves. Turns out, the goth group is 100% right, and they nearly squash Doug, but the Douglas family returns with an already “pissed off at gingerbread” Fyootch to take everyone down and remind us what Christmas is really about.

Our Take

Future-Worm’s producer Ryan Quincy has always made adorable-looking characters, and tonight’s episode featuring the Snords was a good example of that. Hell, even the gobbler was kinda cute in an Attack the Block sort of way.

The second portion was the slightly better of the two in terms of plot, premise, and Christmas message. Chelsea Peretti’s return as Ennuisha was a welcome one as was Paget Brewster’s take on Mrs. Claus. As a matter of fact, before she became a big huge star on Criminal Minds, Paget was very much a regular on the voice-acting scene though not as much any more, so I was happy to see her.

Doug’s “goth” look was hilarious, and Ryan’s take on the subversive scene was quite a bit more positive than say the goths you may have seen at his former employer aka South Park and it further cemented the character in more of a “Randy” type role in the series in that the kids aren’t the only characters taking part in fun and games, as the adults can go nuts as well.

Having said all this, I was definitely looking for these episodes to be a bit more Christmas-ey. The “Mall” episode fits this trajectory, but I’m not so sure the Snordfest episode closed the deal as much as say the Halloween episodes did a couple of months ago.
