REVIEW: FAMILY GUY “Yug Ylimaf”

In the 200th episode of the series, Brian accidentally causes Stewie’s time machine to run in reverse. To keep it from going all the way back to before Stewie was born, the two of them need to get it to progress forward in time.

Spoilers Below

Brian uses the fact that he has a time machine in an effort to pickup a whore. The couple end up going into the machine and end up at the time in which Lincoln gets shot and instead use it as a great time to hook up. This is a practice that continues on for the next couple of days until Brian screws up trying to fix something sending it nuts and as such causing time to start moving in reverse.  Brian soon comes clean on what he did but that really doesn’t matter because now the guys have to figure out how to fix it so everything moves forward in time.

Shit goes up hill with the time reversal as Stewie gets a diaper change and we find Peter passed out drunk but because of time reversal Peter leaves. We learn a lot with Brian and Stewie just randomizing around town, like Lois tagging Joe’s car and watching Quagmire have sex in reverse being weird as hell. We also run into a reverse of Peter’s latest fight with the chicken that crashed a 747 downtown, and blew up a coffee shop. We also see Peter fall UP the new stairs and Cleveland still lives across the street and is being subjected to the Peter Cannon. Turns out the reversal is starting to speed up and now its starting to affect Stewie and Brian, even causing the baby to unteeth. Guess what happens next?? Reverse puking!  Worse yet, if they don’t fix this shit Stewie’s going to be unborn.

Fortunately, Stewie is starting to make headway on fixing the machine but Stewie can’t walk anymore and soon gets reverted back when he was born even getting put back in Lois’ vagina. This leaves Brian to fix the machine on his own and he does just that. Stewie is reborn and everything seems to be back to normal.

So, its 200 episodes and this show still is just as good as the first day it was born. Granted the cutaways were kinda lame, but getting a unique ‘before’ perspective on some of the biggest moments in Family Guy lore was worth the price of admission alone. Everything from the chicken fight, to the Barber Shop Quartet, and my personal favorite of the throwback Meg voice with Lacey Chabert. I’ll be honest I’m not quite sure why this wasn’t a ‘Road To’ episode but that’s what great about Family Guy. They take the standard, the cliches, and all the bull shit and throw it out of the window in favor of plots about time travel and sci-fi humor that is untouched on network prime-time.
