Reddit AMA Recap: Roger Black and Waco O’Guin drop more hints on Brickleberry S3

Brickleberry

The DVRs are still warm with all of the recordings of last night’s episode of Brickleberry which kicked off the show’s third season, and now we’ve got some new notes for the rest of the way! That’s because Roger Black and Waco O’Guin recently took part in a Reddit AMA where they answered questions about what’s in store for the future of Brickleberry.

In terms of returning characters, we’ve learned that Hobo Larry DOES return starting episode two, and will be reoccurring on a few other episodes, however Flamey and Kurt will NOT be back this season. Also, not only is The Howard Stern Show’s Eric the Actor going to be a guest star on an upcoming episode, but Sal and Richard may as well. Richard’s done a bunch of voice work, most recently on Adult Swim’s King Star King.

In terms of upcoming plot points, Bobby WILL be getting a new meth lab in the near future, and when asked if Connie is going to hook up with Ethel, the guys compared the situation to the Ross and Rachael story line from Friends. In terms of actual production on the show, Roger and Waco have noted that Comedy Central is pretty awesome and very lenient when it comes to axing particular scenes noting, ‘we rarely run into something they won’t let us do’, but DID have an anecdote about one particular run-in with Standards & Practices:

”For some reason, Standards and Practices didn’t love the idea of Woody getting a hemorrhoid. With the face of Jesus on it. We finally managed to get it through. We just couldn’t crucify it.”

Last but not least, the guys answered a question concerning the switch from Flash animation into digital animation, more specifically the reasoning behind it. As you guys know, starting with season two, Roger and Waco wanted to go with a more traditional look, but producing that look in a modern way:

”We don’t use flash it’s harmony. Almost every show has moved away from cells. It’s very time consuming and expensive to use them. You can still achieve the traditional look with digital animation. That’s what we went for in season 2 and 3.”
