Phineas and Ferb production on ”indefinite hiatus” according to producer
We had an inkling something was going on at Phineas and Ferb when we first reported on the whereabouts of the magazine a few weeks back, but it looks as though the future of Phineas and Ferb is a bit more cloudy. Worse yet, the Phineas and Ferb Facebook page has been merged with the Disney Channel one, so where there is smoke there is fire. Check out this exchange between show creator Swampy Marsh and a few fans:
@AcunaAndrew Well, Steve H is an idiot. But, we are taking our first hiatus since 2006 and making plans for what is to follow… Stay tuned!

Then a fan asks if this Steve H. is an idiot…
@JulietteElton@AcunaAndrew Oh gosh yes… A massive one. Often partially (or sometimes even totally) wrong about what he reports.

The Steve H. that Swampy is referring to is Steve Hulett, a business representative of The Animation Guild (TAG), Local 839 IATSE. Steve posts on what is called the ‘TAG’ blog, and usually surmises about his daily proceedings which evidently include 401k enrollment meetings and walk-throughs. On one such occurrence, Steve stopped by Disney and heard from the staffer that the Phineas and Ferb staffers have scattered and already are seeking employment elsewhere:
Most the Phineas and Ferb board artists are gone. It was a nice, five-year run but the series and the specials have wrapped and people are off to other jobs, looking for other jobs. A few artists are swinging to other Disney shows here, but others not. …
Steve also notes that Gravity Falls is going strong, although creator Alex Hirsch has already talked about moving on to other projects past season 2, so I’m not sure if the picture there is as rosy as Steve denotes. If Phineas does get cancelled, it would be just the most recent to do so after Fish Hooks, and from the sounds of it Crash and Bernstein.
The one thing I really don’t like about this ”TAG” blog is that Steve H. is someone who is responsible for talking up 401ks, and he blogs about it? If I am someone working in animation, I’d rather setup an IRA, this way you wouldn’t have to worry about your socials being blogged about one day.
