‘Penn Zero’ to have a four-night prime-time premier

Penn-Zero: Part-Time Hero is an upcoming series coming soon to Disney XD and the network will pretty much do an unprecedented roll-out that will allow you to watch a whole bunch of the initial episodes in a short amount of time. That’s always a good thing because, let’s face it, we’ve got shit to do and anyway Disney XD can help out with that is mostly appreciated.

Starting this Monday, January 19th, you will be able to watch two preview episodes of the Sam Levin/Jared Bush joint on the Disney XD app. The series has a rather STACKED cast too, as Silicon Valley’s Tom Middleditch will play the titular character of ‘Penn Zero’ a part-time hero. Other notable names include the brilliant Adam Devine (Workaholics) as ‘Boone’ , Larry Wilmore and Alfred Molina as villains ‘Rippen’ and ‘Larry’ respectively, and a whole bunch more!

The first two episodes set to stream on Disney XD app starting January 19th include:

“I’m Super/The Fast and the Floor Rugs” – Penn is convinced that nothing could be cooler than being an actual superhero, but Sashi tries to show him it’s the hero within us that’s most important. Adam West guest stars as superhero Captain Super Captain. Then, Penn struggles with Boones unique brand of wisdom when he becomes an all-powerful genie in a world of street-racing magic carpets.

“Baby-Pocalypse/That Purple Girl” – In a world of living plush animals, the three stuffed teammates must save a plushy town from sinister giant babies. Dianna Rigg guest stars as Mayor Pink Panda. Then, Penn and Boone’s friendship is put to the test when they both fall for the beautiful alien princess they are assigned to protect on an alien jungle planet. Elizabeth Henstridge guest stars as Princess.

And no, Disney XD isn’t done with its digital strategy as on  January 30th, iTunes will have a free download of the first of those two episodes, and don’t worry because on Friday February 13th, Disney XD and Disney Channel will simulcast the 2015 television premier of Penn Zero @ 9:45 pm ET/PT. Here’s a little more about the episode:

“Chicken or Fish?/The Old Old West” – While defending an underwater kingdom of fish-people, Penn helps Boone face an embarrassing secret. Then, in a world where cowboys ride giant dinosaurs, Penn tries to give a washed-up sheriff a second chance at greatness. Beau Bridges guest stars as Sheriff Scaley Briggs

The next two nights will air the already streamed episodes at these times:

Saturday, February 14

“Baby-Pocalypse/That Purple Girl” premieres on Disney XD (9:00 p.m. ET/PT).

Sunday, February 15

“I’m Super/The Fast and the Floor Rugs” premieres on Disney XD (9:00 p.m. ET/PT).

Last, but certainly not least, Disney XD will premier another new episode of Penn Zero on Monday, February 16th @ 9:15 pm ET/PT and we get to learn about that one also:

“Brainzburgerz/Chuckle City” – An exhausted Penn is relieved when the team is zapped to a shopping mall and given “normal” jobs…until the zombie uprising begins. Then, in a clown universe, where silliness is a hero’s most powerful weapon, the tough and serious Sashi must get in touch with her silly side or jeopardize the entire mission. Garry Marshall guest stars as Soda Jerk.

Needless to say, LOTS of Penn-Zero on the way, and you can keep it locked here for reviews of all when the time comes.
