Oxygen network producing series that could ‘Kickstart’ your project

I’m embarrassed to say this, but you know what show I’ve been addicted to as of late? Snapped! Yes, I know Oxygen network is for women, but Snapped is all about couples murdering each other and their neighbors and whatever and I can’t help but get a kick out of it. Call me a son of a bitch all you want, but I enjoy it.

In any case, the Oxygen network is developing a new series that’s all about crowd-funding. It’s a competition series called Start Me Up and it brings the crowdfunding business seen mostly in say Kickstarter or Indiegogo to the small screen that sees contestants put together 90 second pitch videos for their campaigns, business ideas, or causes. It’s almost like a Shark Tank meets Wheel of Fortune because whichever contestant can raise the most amount of money on the Oxygen website will win $25,000.

This could be a great way for animation, probably geared towards women, to get REALLY popular REALLY fast. The medium is strong on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, but you can tell there are some projects that really can’t get off the ground. This could be a great way for producers to do just that and have a brand already visible to a wider audience than say a Youtube video could.

Start Me Up is Produced by Soshefeigh Media and Wilshire Studios with Matt O’Brien and René Brar serving as Executive Producers.
