Hit Record TV from Joseph Gordon-Levitt (@hitrecordjoe ‘s) new Pivot (@pivot_tv) show gets a start date!

A true collaborative effort from the guy who is in like every awesome movie ever…

pivot

We talked a little while back about Joe Levitt’s new series Hit Record on TV coming to Pivot as they were looking for a bunch of animators to submit a bunch of content and so because we love you guys out there that send us stuff we decided to let you know so that you can fill up their inboxes, too.

Since then I’ve been keeping in touch with the Hit Record Youtube and have been avidly watching the updates Joe has been posting and I gotta say I’m pretty excited for the new series. Recently, Pivot put out a press release and noted that HitRecord on TV will air sometime next year and again they are looking for animators but be sure to check out the videos because the guys posted up eight different themes for said animators, writers, musicians, etc. to use as a base for their content creations:

HITRECORD ON TV! – Premieres Saturday, January 18, 2014 A new take on the variety show hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt who directs countless artists from his global open-source online community – hitRECord – to create short films, live performances, music, animation, conversation and more! Each episode focuses on a different theme as Joe invites and encourages anybody with an Internet connection to join him and contribute. Producer: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jared Geller/Brian Graden Productions; Lois Curren, Brian Graden, Gaurav Misra (8 X :30)

The one question I had was about the ‘ Joe invites and encourages anybody with an Internet connection to join him’ part which is an odd one for me because 4.2 billion people on the planet do not have internet access so I’d hate to see them not able to contribute.

In any case I am very much looking forward to the new sketch series as I think it’s a brilliant idea that could maybe launch tomorrow’s animating stars. Could that be you? Check out this animated piece posted yesterday in celebration of the bullshit DOMA act that was overturned in favor of freedom of expression.
