Gorillaz’ Artist Confirms the Band is Back
It’s official: The greatest fictional-yet-still-real cartoon band of all time, Gorillaz, are making a comeback.
We previously heard word from group co-mastermind Damon Albarn – following the release of his solo LP, “Everyday Robots,” back in October – that his future projects will include a new Gorillaz album, and now the band’s artist & Albarn’s partner-in-crime, Jamie Hewlett, has confirmed it.
Hewlett made the announcement last Friday via new renderings of Gorillaz members Murdoc and Noodle on his Instagram. He teased fans the previous day with a Murdoc pencil sketch.
Fans who commented looking for concrete confirmation were greeted by Hewlett with a simple, three word answer: “Yes Gorillaz Returns.”
The new record is tentatively scheduled for 2016. Gorillaz last effort was 2011’s iPad-recorded “The Fall.”

Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
