Five Ways In Which “Sausage Party” Could Continue (Yes, even with that crazy-ass ending)

Want more Sausage Party? Who wouldn’t? The R-rated animated comedy from Rogen/Goldberg is a franchise in the making, and with merchandise on the way we wonder where else this shit could go. We’ve got five ideas that include Spoilers so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, I recommend you do that in theaters right this second. Seriously, just get up out of your chair at work and just see the movie.

  1. 2D Animated Series: There’s a whole flashback scene that I thought was really well done that was done entirely in 2D animation and it got me thinking. I would love to see a Sausage Party spin-off in full 2D inspired by Firewater and the non-perishables as I think it could be a bunch of fun! Let’s answer some of those questions that Firewater proposed and see where it goes…you?
  2. A Live-Action/Animated Sequel: This is all the rage nowadays on TV, and Seth Rogen already has some experience in this world with Paul, and that ending certainly lends itself to a premise so there’s no reason why this can’t happen. So would Frank and Seth fight each other or are they best friends?
  3. An all-CG sequel: Despite the ending, Seth Rogen has said in interviews that he would like to do more Sausage Party movies, and I would think continuing the CG route would be the most obvious way to go, despite the ending. Can they really top the orgy, though?
  4. Comic Book: Most of the big animated TV comedies for adults also have a corresponding comic book,so why not Sausage Party? This would be a great, low-cost way of continuing some of the stories kicked off by the film.
  5. A Video Game: South Park has proven that you can have an R-rated animated comedy in film, TV, AND video games! A Sausage Party full-on console game would be something that I would really want to get into. And with South Park already introducing a VR solution where smells can be head, why wouldn’t we want to include food??
