Exclusive: Mark FroHungry, Editor for ‘Bring Brickleberry back for a 4th Season’ Facebook Page

Brickleberry

Are you of the camp that really wants to bring back Brickleberry? Yea, me too, however probably not as much as Mark FroHungry. Mark is an editor for the ‘Bring Brickleberry back for a 4th Season‘ Facebook page and we decided to talk with him about his passionate cause to bring back the show, which just starting streaming on Netflix. Think the show should come back? Read on to find out how YOU can help.

John Blabber: Tell me why you created this campaign for Brickleberry?

Mark FroHungry: If I told you that I created it, that would be a lie. I’m merely attempting to bring more attention to it. The movement was actually started by several fans, the second that Comedy Central cancelled the show. Why am I contributing to the movement? That’s simple; because I love the show more than I love most things in life, and like life, the best things are gone too quickly.

JB: Given the way season three ended, how would season four continue?

MF: If it were up to me, I’d have the comic books close the gap between season 3 and season 4 (which may end up happening anyways). The four issues of comic books would give an explanation to how the world went back to normal, or at least what is considered “normal” by Brickleberry standards, between seasons 3 and 4. I don’t want to spoil anything if the readers haven’t watched the season 3 finale yet, but I like how the creators gave the show a clear-cut ending, while simultaneously making it possible for the show to be revived later.

JB: What are some of your favorite memories of Brickleberry?

MF: That is truly a hard question. Every episode has moments that make me laugh out loud but if had to pick my favorites, I’d say (in no particular order): Steve leading a group of campers into a mine field with deadly results; Woody accidentally drowning a  man in Miracle Lake, and then pretending the man is giving a positive endorsement of how the lake helped him, by moving him around and poorly imitating his voice; Any scene with Dr. Kuzniak; Steve unknowingly singing explicit homosexual innuendo-filled songs at a child’s birthday party and then not realizing why he gets thrown out; Denzel taking advantage of Steve’s handicap, when Steve becomes crippled, to get whatever he wants; The first minute of the show’s pilot. Those are just a few that come to mind.

JB: Which characters do you relate to the most?

MF: I can relate to Steve – having a good heart, but not always pulling the plan off in the smartest way, i.e., occasionally being a complete moron. I can relate to Yucko. He’s a minor side character from the creators’ Damn Show productions, but I can relate to him because I enjoy distasteful jokes at other peoples’ expense. And I think almost everyone can relate to Connie at some point in their life for being a little bit different. I’ve also got a little bit of Malloy in me, because, I’ll admit it, I like having my way.

JB: Are there other animated shows that have been cancelled that you  may want to spread the word about?

MF: Definitely! Good Vibes, this fantastic MTV animated series that came out the same time that the reboot of Beavis and Butthead came out should be revived, because MTV cancels anything that’s actually good. Drawn Together, like Brickleberry also got cancelled after three seasons on Comedy Central and that show didn’t deserve it. I still pull out my DVDs of that show and rewatch the series at least once a year. The whole concept of being the first animated reality tv show allowed them to make fun of reality tv shows and get away with anything, because hey, it’s a satire of reality tv. Last but not least, Aqua teen should have never been cancelled. It’s ironic in a cruel way that when the creators changed the name to “Aqua Teen Hunger Force Forever”, then Adult Swim decided to cancel it. I was also pretty bummed when High School USA! got cancelled from ADHD; but I can understand why that show didn’t make it to a  2nd season. Network television isn’t ready for a show with such a dark sense of humor.
JB: Are you looking forward to the Brickleberry comic book? How do you think a comic and a fourth season of the show would coexist?
MF: I don’t even read comics but I’m going to read the Brickleberry comics. In fact, I’ll probably buy several copies of each comic to support the show. Like I said earlier, I’m hoping that the comics bridge the gap between seasons 3 and 4 so that season 4 can come back without a hitch, and continue like the show was never even cancelled. A lot of fans are mad that there is going to be a comic book instead of direct news of a season 4 but, what they’ve got to realize is it will still be the same show that they love; just animated on paper instead of on their TVs.
JB: What other kinds of Brickleberry merchandise do you think should be released?

MF: A Malloy plush doll; A full retail album of Steve William’s Wholesome Country Songs; An energy shot that gives people Connie’s super strong lesbian strength; A “Bobby Possumcods 4 President” t-shirt; An Ethel Anderson fleshlight.

JB: Anything else you would like to say to our readers concerning your campaign to get Brickleberry back?
MF; Sure, thanks John! First, i’d just like to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to the spread the word. Secondly, I’d like to tell anyone that is currently reading article this to give Brickleberry another shot, if they don’t like it. It’s my personal belief that each season improved greatly with quality and while I still loved the 1st season, the 2nd and 3rd were even better. Some people watch 10 minutes of the first episode and then dedicate their lives to spreading as much hate on the show as possible. So to you all I say, give it another chance, it’ll grow on you.
Besides that, if you want to help revive the show there a few things you can do: Most importantly, you can call Netflix at 1-866-579-7172 and tell them they should produce further seasons of Brickleberry as a Netflix exclusive show. All the calls are recorded and listened to so the content team can discover what the fans want. Secondly, you can live chat to Netflix at https://help.netflix.com/help and tell them the same thing. Anyone reading who wants the show back can also tweet at Netflix telling them that they should renew. The Facebook page that I am an editor at, whose sole purpose is revive Brickleberry, is here and the site for the new and improved petition to be sent to Netflix is here.
