English Dub Review: Star Blazers “The Sun Sets On Pluto”

This isn’t a Disney call-out.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

You thought the Yamato was destroyed? Guess what it wasn’t, and it launches a counter-assault to the Gamilians Pluto base that wipes it off the face of the planet and pretty much guarantees no more radiation bombs coming to Earth.

Our Take

I’m kind of underplaying the importance of the episode, but that’s because my jaw is on the floor from the epic planetary battle that took place. Juzo Okita is officially becoming a bad-ass, slyly turning his captain’s hat backward as he annihilates a planet. This week, we also get to meet more of the Gamilians, not a lot just yet, but we definitely establish some of the A-holes pulling the strings on Earth’s destruction. And yes, this is a big win for Earth’s space warriors, but I have a feeling that some of the pieces on THIS chess board are just getting started.
