English Dub Review: New Game! “I’m Sensing A Very Intense Gaze”

Gaze into our eyes.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

It’s hiring week at Eagle Jump and Nene gets her chance at a full-time position. She actually passes her interview with flying colors as Umiko went to bat for her to management, however, Nene has a lot to learn and before she can go full-time she’ll have to manage a part-time gig as she finishes up her studies.

Meanwhile, Christina is doing her best to fit in after her controversy surround the credits the last few episodes and she gets help in the form of Shizuku’s cat, Mozuku, who is officially the MVP of this series.

Last but not least, two more people get brought in to work at Eagle Jump in the form of interns, a graphic artist named Momiji Mochizuki and a programmer named Tsubame Narumi. Narumi seems nice, but Momiji aspires to be just like Ko and as such pretty much declares war on Aoba.

Our Take

Definitely one of the better episodes of season two, and while I’m now enjoying some of the new arcs that we are in the process of deploying as we look at the back-half of the season, I’m not sure why the producers of this series don’t make a show revolving around the animals of the show, most specifically Mozuku who is friggin’ hilarious. She by far has the most personality of anyone on the series, and even her complaining is too adorable to pass up. With Hafumi changing seats, I’m wondering if this means we’ll see less of her pet hedgehog….hopefully that’s not the case, but we shall see in the weeks ahead.
