English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “The Aftermath of Hero Killer: Stain”

My Hero Academia continues its streak of excellence.

“The Aftermath of Hero Killer: Stain” resumes post “Climax,” with Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku (Justin Briner), Todoroki (David Matranga), and Tenya Iida (John Michael Tatum) in the hospital. The Hosu chief of police visits the three boys and gives the official party line. That is, they should have left the fighting up to the real heroes. But he also offer that he respects them, and to avoid legal ramifications, they won’t receive any credit. Instead, they agree that Endeavor (Patrick Seltz) battled Stain.

Meanwhile, investigations into Stain’s motives reach the masses. This proves detrimental as it furthers the League of VIllains’ cause. Now, supporters appear to rally behind the League. Additionally, All Might (Christopher R. Sabat) speaks with Gran Torino (Charles Campbell) about Stain and the League. All Might seems worried that the villain which put a hole in him might be back at work. Plus, Gran Torino encourages All Might to explain more about his and Deku’s shared quirk (power), One For All. Gran Torino also mentions a villainous All For One.

“The Aftermath of Hero Killer: Stain” sets the stage for the next chapter of the My Hero Academia saga. Next up, the League of Villains will gain supporters. It’s clear that although Stain has (for now) been defeated, the threat isn’t over. Interestingly, Stain seemed at odds with the League. Still, this works in their favor. Overall, it’s a solid episode that presents the first wave of My Hero Academia‘s story arc.
