English Dub Review: KADO: The Right Answer “Sansa”

Find out which pill you should take.

Once again, KADO: The Right Answer delivers a fantastic series entry. After major developments in “Tetrok,” “Sansa” introduces a bevy of characters and plot elements. Adam Ward (John Burgmeier), CEO of highly successful Internet company Setten, hires reporter Takumi Gonno (Christopher Bevins) to cover the Kado situation.

Meanwhile, Shun Hanamori (Kyle Igneczi) is overwhelmed with work as the Japanese government’s negotiator to Yaha-Kui zaShunina (Jason Liebrecht). Kojiro Shindo (Ian Mead Moore) spends an increasing amount of time with zaShunina.

Gonno and crew arrive in a Setten-branded helicopter and request an interview with zaShunina. This sends the military into a frenzy. I like the way “Sansa” further delves into media coverage. As the media permeates society, coverage becomes a major aspect of the show. Additionally, it’s neat how Setten is a lightly-veiled Google logo complete with the colored letters.

“Sansa” does get pretty Matrix-esque. It’s a bit trippy in places. The animation is top notch. The sansa referred to is a feature that broadens perception across different dimensions. It’s this that allows Shindo to remain awake for days on end.

I like the continued learning as KADO advances. Additionally, the artwork, as well as dialogue, are amazing. It’s one of the few dialogue-centric anime series I’ve seen and moreover, one that’s continually fascinating.

Though there’s not a massive focus on every part of society, there are small clips to show the public reaction to Kado as well as a kabuki festival. There’s a pleasant balance of drama and comedy. But its an overall safe show. This isn’t a con per se. However, don’t expect many radical events. Nevertheless, KADO: The Right Answer is full of surprises as well as a compelling narrative and likable characters. It’s this combined with masterful technical aspects like animation and score which makes it such a delightful series.
