English Dub Review: Black Clover “To the Royal Capital of the Clover Kingdom!”

Overview (Spoilers Below)
This week’s episode sees Asta and Yuno spend time in training along with a heavy dose of character development to build on a possible love interest for Asta but no one’s giving the sword wielder a snowball’s chance in hell at becoming Wizard King. Yuno, on the other hand, seems to be more focused on the task at hand and is the heavy favorite to become Wizard King.The second part of the episode is a big montage for Asta and Yuno’s expedition to the Clover Kingdom to begin their trials.
Our Take
Filler episode, but with the added benefit of added a dash of cliche to Asta’s character. I really hope the producers of this don’t harp on the fact that Asta wants to be Wizard King just for the girl because that would be a big letdown. I was more looking forward to seeing a character that just wanted to prove his naysayers wrong against all odds. Hopefully, this gets cleared up as we move forward because this show appears to build out a whole fucking world where multiple seasons could be warranted and I’d hate that to be on the back of a dude trying to get the lady.
