DVD REVIEW: SOUTH PARK SEASON 15

hands if you knew Bill Hader (from SNL, Superbad) was on the South Park staff? Fuck you if your hand is up, even if it’s just up metaphorically. (And if you don’t know who Bill Hader is, you should be beaten with a sack of batteries.) Getting to see the development process is especially enlightening for creative-types because you get to see the sparks and the collaboration along with the struggles inevitably faced in writing (like trying to crank out a cartoon DVD review, or something). Fortunately, even if you’re an unimaginative lump of crap, you’ll still get some giggles from the South Park crew just being themselves. Hopefully they’ll gain some respect from viewers for how hard they work, but then probably lose it later when it turns out the episode is about sewing three people together, mouth-to-anus, with an iPad on the front.

Overall, there honestly isn’t anything bad I can say about this season. It’s perfect for everyone, from the die-hards like me, to people who are just picking it up for the first time. People like my mom, who saw her first episode during season fourteen (hi Mom!) Looking back, I can honestly say I laughed – and hard – at least several times in every episode of the season. They all had a witty spoof, a poignant opinion, or just a funny-as-hell plot, with not a runt in the litter. But the reason I know this season (and the show in general up until this point) is truly exceptional is because even after fifteen seasons, and having already seen this season when it first aired, I still eagerly unwrapped the plastic and excitedly put the DVD in, just like Fifth-Grade Me did with his VHS tape that very first time.
