Comics Review: The Flintstones #7

Was this a lucky number seven?

Spoilers Below

This month’s issue of The Flintstones sees a visit from The Great Gazoo who is documenting what he sees out of the prehistoric citizens of Bedrock and is a good buffer between The Flintstones and other aliens that may be looking to take advantage of him.

Gerald starts up a religious racket where a bunch of people give him money for forgiveness. Despite the riches, Gerald gets annoyed and decides to give it up.

While Wilma cries about the fact that she is unable to sell any of her artwork, Fred spends most of the issue digging up a crash site at the quarry so as to save a guy buried underneath the rubble. Despite Mr. Slate’s objections, Fred does the right thing and saves the guy.

Our Take

Overall, not a bad issue. A lot of the arcs presented kind of went nowhere, and I’m not quite sure why the producers keep sticking in these antiquated religious notions, but the Fred bit was good enough that it kinda saves the issue. Not a lot of jokes this time around, but I’ve seen worse from this run of issues.
