Blu-Ray Review: South Park Season 20

I think we can officially start the South Park summer.

Alas, even the mighty South Park is beginning to feel the sword of digital. For years, South Park was one of the more reliable home releases, bringing with every season a chockful of special features you couldn’t get anywhere else.

And for all intents and purposes, the show’s 20th season does feature some things that are the show’s staples. Like, episode commentaries from producers Matt Stone and Trey Parker to go along with social commentaries that get a bit more technical. But, other than that, most of the special features you can get online, including the E3 2016 trailer of Fractured But Whole along with a few other odds and ends. The uncensored dialogue for the episodes is only cool for the fans that don’t already have Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon with the means to stream episodes of the show dependent on availability via each provider.

You would think a landmark 20th season would’ve had more special features or something to that effect, but to no avail. As such, I can only recommend this home release for the hardcore collectors that already have all of the home releases of each season OR does not have access to streaming services.
