#2 OF THE 10 BEST ANIMATED SERIES ON TELEVISION IN 2012…SO FAR

We are at the halfway point of our fair television viewing year and as such we thought it’d be bad ass to do a list of the highest scoring animated series of 2012…so far. After the jump, see who made the list with contributions made by all of our writers. Now to see who is number 2 on the best animated series in the first half of 2012.

#2

The reason that this listing might seem low on our list of best animated series despite getting TWO perfect score grades (“Dethcamp“, “Church of the Black Klok“) is because we are counting grades for the first half of 2012 so in this case June 30th, 2012. Once New Years comes around there’s a very good chance that this program is number 1. And who would argue?? I wanted to start this article saying “Brendon Small quietly put together…” but seriously coming into season 4 he was fucking all over the place promoting not only Metalocalypse, but Galaktikon, and of course getting generic questions about Dethklok’s upcoming album release.

But, through all that, Brendon Small has managed to bring us his finest work yet giving us a season of Metalocalypse that pretty much set the stage for an apocalyptic Season 5. But, before we talk about Season 5, there are a bunch of unsung heroes on the Metalocalypse staff that I probably don’t write about enough that should be mentioned. Obviously, if Chris Prynoski and his team of Tit-Mouseketeers weren’t good they wouldn’t be the default animation studio for a majority of the Adult Swim shows.  Jon Schnepp has completely outdone himself with the direction of the show, and to help fill it out Mark Brooks, Brendon Small, Tommy Blancha, and the rest of the writing staff are some of the best in the world at what they do which makes them a perfect addition to the list of best animated series…so far.
