10 Times Other Broadcast Networks Tried To Beat “The Simpsons” But Failed Miserably
Former Simpsons producer and upcoming show runner for TBS’s Final Space, David Sacks, has a skeleton in his closet and its name is Game Over. Actually, I shouldn’t say that. Game Over was pretty good and featured a rather talented cast, but with UPN near-death, you can tell the network just had no idea what they wanted to do with this show. Only six episodes aired before it was canceled and was quite a bit ahead of its time in terms of it being a game-centered series. While gaming always has a great audience, it wasn’t the pop culture phenomenon it is now with the growth of Twitch, airings of game tournaments on TBS, and the maturation of the medium as a legit story-telling avenue. As a result, Game Over was probably going to only have a niche audience at the time…if it were aired today, could it last?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
