BEAT IT DUCKS! Homer starts to get the sense that other people think he’s getting too old and not with the program in terms of coolness.. Enter Terrance, a donut maker that recently moved to Springfield from Portland, fleeing the excesses that have been allowed to develop there. Similar to Homer, Terrance also has a wife and kids, but he doesn’t let them drag him down in life. Pretty soon Terrance actually moves next door where we are introduced to his wife Emily and his newly renovated and pretentious household. What’s great about Terrance is that he thinks that Homer is a cool guy and as such introduces him to his kids Corduroy and T-Rex. Unfortunately, Bart isn’t too crazy about T-Rex due to his garbage toys and no TV, but Lisa doesn’t seem to mind him. Marge on the other hand is somewhat perturbed by Emily as she whips out her titty and starts to feed Corduroy right in front of her, and more or less blabbing about how great it is to breast-feed your kids.
So, Homer is becoming real good friends with Terrance and their family as they’ve been spending a lot of time together as of late and Marge does NOT like it. Later at T-Rex’s birthday party. Homer and the kids are getting down with the rest of the crowd while Marge and Maggie head into another room and try breast-feeding but it doesn’t work and almost becomes victim to the other wives’ attempt to try and feed Maggie themselves! It’s time to open presents, but after T-Rex mocks what Homer got him, Bart seems to get a little miffed that his new next door neighbor is constantly mocking his dad and as a result a fight breaks out causing Terrance and his family to kick out the Simpsons much to Homer’s dismay.
Bart and Marge make Homer aware of everything that went down, and as a result now wants nothing to do with Terrance or the rest of his family. Ned gets involved and holds an intervention between the two families, where Terrance breaks the news that more hippies are coming to town and it ain’t pretty. These people start remodeling Springfield and all of our favorite residents are being turned into the lamest peeps ever. Just when you thought this couldn’t get worse, a hero by the name of Bart shows up and introduces T-Rex to the greatest invention ever…the television. Unfortunately, T-Rex was supposed to turn his dad’s compost, but he doesn’t so it sets the house on fire, but with the Springfield FD not being cool anymore, its no longer around! Marge turns to 50 gallons of baby formula of which Homer drops on the house saving the neighborhood. But with Springfield being played out, all of the hippie motherfuckers high-tail it out of town just in time for Mr. Burns to teach us all about electricity and all its uses.
You know what? This episode was 10,000 percent accurate in its portrayal of all these hipster douches. Wanna know how I know this?? Because, I live 25 minutes from a town that used to be riddled with drugs, crime, and despair and instead we have Fro-Yo on every corner, the word ‘Organic’ laced on every sign, and once decent heavy-metal clubs turned into dance clubs. That said, this week’s episode was really well done on its own merits without its morals. I haven’t seen a lot of Carrie Brownstein’s work, but I thought she did a great job in her portrayal of Emily, a mother that humorously almost led an entire mob of moms to try and stick titties in Maggie’s mouth. My question is, wouldn’t that be rape?? Fred Armisen as Terrance was also a great choice, and you can tell Fred’s been doing the voice-over game for quite a while having done stints with Looney Tunes and Unsupervised, because his lines seemed so natural and the character itself was completely opposite of Homer which made for entertaining arguments. Lastly, Patton Oswalt finishes up his Triple Crown run of having done just about every show on FOX’s current iteration of Animation Domination besides The Cleveland Show in grand fashion with convincing rhetoric that really made me want to punch his character ‘T-Rex’ in the mouth. Also, I loved the David Cross joke, and hope this means the producers make him come on the show and do an episode, as I think he’d be a great fit with the cast.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
