English Dub Review: The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom “Elenora”

Overview

As they journey to the Country of Long Nights, Ellie begins to notice subtle changes in Insomniac, whom she has known since childhood, that leave her uneasy. They arrive in a land where blue flowers bloom, and preparations are underway for the annual Walpurgis Eve festival. But beneath its peaceful surface, Insomniac senses an ominous presence, and the country’s hidden secrets slowly come to light.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the show continues to impress with its thoughtful character development and world-building. Eleonora remains a standout, and her interactions with the character Insomniac are particularly entertaining as their childhood bond grows increasingly complicated. I also appreciate how the series takes its time establishing relationships and cultural differences rather than rushing straight into the action.

In terms of aesthetics, the Scandinavian/Viking-inspired Country of Long Nights adds plenty of intrigue through its mythology, religious references, and political tensions. The distinct clothing and armor designs, beautiful watercolor backgrounds, and subtle hints of something unusual happening beneath the surface further enrich the experience. With the queen and archbishop raising questions of their own, the story leaves plenty to speculate about without losing sight of its characters.

Overall, I’m enjoying the series’ patient storytelling and promising foundation. Its blend of charming character interactions, cultural details, and growing mystery has kept me invested, and I’m particularly interested in seeing how the relationships and political tensions develop. Yet I’m also hopeful the anime will continue giving its characters and world the time they deserve.
