English Dub Review: As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World “Headman”
Overview
Ars settles in as Canarre’s headman and reflects on the status quo.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous seasons, the show returns after a 2-year-long break, with Season 3 welcoming viewers back to Ars and his growing circle of allies. As he settles into his new responsibilities in Canarre, Ars looks to expand his ranks by recruiting additional retainers, including the reluctant former mercenary Zaht Brozd and the timid but talented mage Musha Trick. Meanwhile, he turns his attention toward addressing poverty and unemployment, hoping to improve the lives of the district’s citizens while establishing a brighter future.
The familiar cast makes a welcome return, with Charlotte’s cheerful personality and infectious charisma remaining a particular highlight. It’s also nice to see Mireille again, while the introduction of new characters adds some fresh dynamics to the ensemble. Beyond the recruitment efforts, the episode explores Ars’s growing responsibilities and the challenges that come with leadership. On the production side, the series returns under a new studio, bringing some noticeable improvements to the character designs and overall visual presentation.
Overall, this is an enjoyable season premiere that effectively reestablishes the series’ appeal without wasting too much time. Ars’s ability to recognize people’s talents and put them to good use continues to distinguish this from other isekai offerings, while its emphasis on leadership, community development, and political strategy provides plenty of substance. With new faces joining the ensemble and bigger challenges on the horizon, there’s plenty of reason to look forward to what’s next.
