English Dub Review: Mushoku Tensei “Phase Four”

Overview:

Following a successful summoning experiment, Nanahoshi offers Rudeus a reward.

Our Take(Spoilers):

Today is the day for graduation episodes, apparently. We had one graduation already with You, and I Are Polar Opposites, and we got another one here. Linia and Pursena have now graduated, but that’s not all; it seems that they have some beef with each other. They decide to have a duel to decide who will be the chief of their village and who will go on to other business ventures.

If you had asked me beforehand who I thought might win, I would have bet on Linia being the winner. But Pursena put the work in and beat Linia’s ass, and then they left each other fully prepared to never see each other again. The only problem is that there’s only one carriage that leads out of town, and they booked the same passage. So their “final” meeting went in a funnier way than they expected.

Rudeus has been helping Nanahoshi with her experiments to try and get back to our world. The last experiment would be considered a success because they brought back a watermelon, which is a fruit that is not native to this world. To celebrate, they have a party so that everyone can try this new fruit. Somehow, anime always makes watermelon look delicious, but I’m not a fan. Rudeus and all of his family sure were, though.

Nanahoshi had an idea for a reward for Rudeus, and everyone else got roped into it as well. She knows a great magician who might be able to help with Zenith’s sickness. But when she tells everyone the name of this person, it freaks everyone out. His name is Perugius, and I’m sure you’ve heard his name before.

In case you don’t remember, Perugius is the same guy who has a castle that floats over the world. He has been around for a long time and was one of the many heroes responsible for defeating the demon god. Learning that this is the guy Nanahoshi is going to introduce them to is kind of a big deal.

I read the novel a long time ago, so I’ve forgotten a lot of this part. I can’t remember how Nanahoshi came to know one of the most famous people in the world, but I am looking forward to being reminded. I would like for some more action to happen soon.
