Crunchyroll Sets 3-Day Theatrical Event for ‘The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: Yotsuba Succession Arc’

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have officially announced a special three-day North American theatrical release for The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: Yotsuba Succession Arc.

The feature-length film will play in select theaters across the U.S. and Canada on September 18, 19, and 20, 2026. Tickets officially go on sale beginning Friday, August 28, 2026, with screenings offered in a brand-new English dub.

Film Overview & Story Arc

Adapting one of the most pivotal narrative storylines from Tsutomu Sato’s popular light novel series, the Yotsuba Succession Arc centers on siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba as they are summoned back to the powerful, secretive Yotsuba Clan.

With the clan’s leadership selecting a successor to current head Maya Yotsuba, long-buried family secrets regarding Tatsuya’s origins, his true standing within the family, and the official nature of his relationship with Miyuki come to the forefront—shaking the balance of power across the entire magic world.

English Dub & Production Team

The English dub brings back the core voice cast from previous television seasons and features, led by:

Anairis Quiñones as Miyuki Shiba

Produced by animation studio Eight Bit (Blue Lock, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime), the feature is directed by Jimmy Stone, with character designs handled by Kana Ishida.

Following its three-day cinematic engagement, the movie is expected to join Crunchyroll’s streaming platform at a later date.
