Picking up where the previous episode left off, the conflict escalates as multiple battles unfold simultaneously, with one confrontation testing the resolve of the Returners while another places Touya’s hard-earned training under Jubei to the ultimate test. Rather than relying solely on newfound abilities, Touya enters his long-awaited clash determined to overcome his opponent through his own growth, setting the stage for one of the series’ most engaging encounters so far.

Touya easily steals the spotlight this week, delivering what is arguably his strongest showing of the season. His composure, clever strategy, and determination make for an exciting fight that highlights just how far he’s come, while Jubei’s teachings finally pay off satisfyingly. Elsewhere, the parallel conflict provides plenty of action as the allied forces struggle against an overwhelming enemy, with a few unexpected moments leaving interesting questions for the finale. While the series’ premise of legendary historical figures battling remains compelling, the execution has been inconsistent, with uneven pacing and underdeveloped characters preventing several emotional moments from landing as effectively as intended.

Overall, this was another enjoyable episode despite the show’s lingering flaws. The action was entertaining, Touya’s character development finally felt worthwhile, and the ongoing battles did a solid job building anticipation for the finale. Although the series has lost much of the attention it had earlier in the season and it’s hard to imagine every conflict being wrapped up satisfyingly in a single episode, there’s still enough momentum left to hope it can end on a strong note.
