English Dub Review: Kirio Fanclub “Treasured Moments”

Overview

The good news is that Aimi has Kirio’s contact information. The bad news is that she now has texting anxiety. But there’s a reason why she’s so persistent about her feelings.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the story takes an unexpected turn by blending its usual offbeat comedy with far more emotional storytelling. While Aimi and Nami continue their amusing antics surrounding Kirio, the episode also gives greater attention to the people around them, particularly a lonely classmate hoping to find genuine friendship. At the same time, subtle character moments begin to reveal that everyone’s motivations run much deeper than they first appeared.

The rest of the proceedings threw me off a bit with its surprising amount of depth regarding its cast by exploring the reasons behind Aimi and Nami’s actions, making their personalities feel much more layered than the series initially suggests. Their friendship remains the emotional core of the story, balancing lighthearted humor with heartfelt moments, while new revelations recontextualize earlier scenes in a meaningful way.

Overall, this is easily one of the strongest episodes so far, elevating the show beyond a simple romantic comedy with clever writing, genuine emotion, and excellent character development. The seamless balance of comedy and heartfelt drama gives the story far more depth than its premise lets on. Even small details, from recurring jokes to the music, carry far more emotional weight than expected, showing just how carefully the series has been building its narrative.
