The Prouds Go Out Louder and Prouder: Disney+ Announces Fourth and Final Season, Plus Stop-Motion Holiday Special For The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder

Disney+ has officially announced that The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will return for its fourth and final season on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. The premiere is perfectly timed to lead into the massive 25th anniversary of the original groundbreaking animated series, which first shook up the Disney Channel landscape back in 2001.

But that is not the only major surprise in store for fans. Alongside the final season announcement, Disney+ revealed that an all-new, song-filled stop-motion holiday special titled A Proud Family Wizmas will also debut on the platform later this year.

A Life-Changing Turning Point

According to the official synopsis, Season 4 will find the Proud household at a true crossroads. Penny Proud will be pulled into a series of unexpected, high-stakes adventures designed to test her courage and her identity. Expect more action-packed, mind-bending, and heartfelt twists than ever before as the tight-knit family handles life’s chaos together.

The announcement comes right as series creator Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar have locked in a one-year renewal on their overall deal with Disney Television Animation under their production banner, BaR Productions. Over its run, Louder and Prouder has pulled in major critical acclaim, winning a NAMIC Award, multiple NAACP Image Awards (including Outstanding Animated Series), and a Children’s and Family Emmy Award.

Mariah Carey, Chloe Bailey, and Ali Wong Join the Guest List

The core voice cast is all back on board, including Kyla Pratt (Penny), Tommy Davidson (Oscar), Paula Jai Parker (Trudy), and the legendary JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama.

True to Proud Family tradition, the final season boasts a massive lineup of major celebrity guest stars. Lending their voices to the final season are:

  • Pop superstar Mariah Carey

  • Chloe Bailey (Grown-ish)

  • Ali Wong (Tuca & Bertie, Beef)

  • Lashana Lynch (Bob Marley: One Love)

  • Lorraine Toussaint (Orange Is the New Black)

  • JB Smoove

  • Sports radio icon Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo

They will join returning recurring favorites Anthony Anderson (Ray Ray) and Tiffany Haddish (Ms. Hill).

A Stop-Motion ‘Wizmas’

Later in the year, the family transitions away from traditional 2D animation for a completely different style.

A Proud Family Wizmas will serve as a tactile, song-filled holiday event. To bring the stop-motion world to life, Disney Television Animation is partnering with co-director David Brooks and the acclaimed Portland-based stop-motion studio HouseSpecial. Longtime franchise composer Kurt Farquhar is back as well, penning six all-new original songs specifically for the holiday special.
