English Dub Review: Rent-a-Girlfriend “Climax and Girlfriend”
Overview:
Unable to bear Chizuru being treated as the one in the wrong anymore, Kazuya decides to speak up.
Our Take(Spoilers):
Fool me once, shame on you. I think you know the saying. I’m not letting this show trick me again. This drama-filled situation has been fascinating, but it’s also shed other characters in a bad light on other characters as well. At this point, the only character that I like that hasn’t done anything shitty is Kibe. Even Kazuya’s grandmother was being an asshole here. To be clear, I like Mami too, yes, she’s an asshole, but at least you know she’s an asshole.
I understand that being lied to about the relationship between Kazuya and Chizuru is upsetting. But what she says about Chizuru’s grandma isn’t right. She might have been Sayuri’s best friend, but Chizuru was her granddaughter, and I imagine she knew her a little bit better. She has no idea the conversations that Chizuru and Sayuri had, which makes her comments petty and mean.
What I hate about this show is that there is no progress. For every step forward, we get like thirty steps back. I understand that Kazuya’s friends are doing their best to help with his current gamble. Kazuya finally confessing his feelings and Chizuru kissing him should be positive things. I can only imagine that his confession will be taken as a way to save their asses, and her kissing him the same way. If I were Kibe, I wouldn’t want to be involved with any of these people.
