English Dub Review: I Want to End This Love Game “Childhood Friend Seduction”

Overview:

Yukiya comes up with a grand plan for a date.

Our Take:

Yukiya shouldn’t get advice from Hinako ever again. Hinako is more of a materialistic person, and for her to find value in dating someone depends entirely on their ability to buy her stuff. Miku doesn’t seem like that type, even though she does want Yukiya to win her something at a claw machine. Yukiya also decides to use shoujo manga as a template for how to run a date. Those probably aren’t the best manga to use, but that’s what he went with.

Yukiya must have been saving money for a while because he not only bought Miku a nice dress, but then went to a very nice restaurant. I could relate to Yukiya here because one time I accidentally walked into a place that was wayyy too nice for me with a girl I was dating. You can feel the eyes on you, but unlike me, Yukiya handled it well, and he chose to go there.

Unfortunately, Miku found out that Yukiya was using a manga to plan the date. It remains to be seen if this will annoy her or make her realize how far he was willing to go to make her happy. I’m glad that they went on a date, and hopefully, the romance starts moving a little faster.
