English Dub Review: You Can’t Be in a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! “Did the Three-Legged Race and Feel a Little Naughty? Then Doing the Scavenger Hunt Still Won’t Start a Rom-Com”
Overview:
It’s Sports Day, and Eiyu takes on the impossible challenge of choosing who he really loves.
Our Take(Spoilers):
It turns out that it wasn’t Eiyu mentally snapping that led to him creating another personality. Though I guess that’s also true. But it was a deliberate choice by Eiyu to try not to see his beloved childhood friends in a sexual or romantic light. In his own words, he described it as “getting horny,” and if I’m not mistaken, he resolved this issue by just deciding that it’s okay to be horny. Which is true, but I’m sure getting tired of harem protagonists that aren’t sure how they feel about certain people. I talk a lot of shit about Rent-a-Girlfriend, but at least Kazuya is only in love with Chizuru. He may never say it, but that’s how he feels.
Meanwhile, Eiyu participates in the scavenger hunt to try to get a win for the red team. Of course, the thing he has to “find” is someone that he really, really, really, REALLY, loves. You’ll be surprised to find out that he decides to grab all of the girls and takes them to the finish line. I’m a little frustrated because we finally got the fourth member of the group introduced, and just as she was starting to develop, it’s over.
