English Dub Review: Snowball Earth “The Kaiju Tamer and the Can of Pineapple”

Overview:

Tetsuo and Yukio are crossing the snowy plains to reach the Mishima Mall, where Ao and the others live.

Our Take(Spoilers):

If Tetsuo keeps acting like this, then I think we’ll be okay. He’s still painfully awkward, but he can at least luck his way through a conversation or two. Ao didn’t seem too bothered by the fact that he didn’t say much to her, but she explained what happened while Tetsuo was gone. A kaiju showed up that had all these frozen spheres and sent them all over the planet, and that’s how the Earth got frozen.

The most fascinating thing in this episode was learning what happened to Ao when she was younger. Her hair and eye color weren’t always what they are now; they changed after she ate a lot of kaiju meat. She then was able to hear this unique kaiju’s thoughts and was given the nickname “kaiju tamer.” I’m a little confused because it seems like everyone eats kaiju meat now, and I don’t see anyone else having these abilities or anything, so I feel that there’s more for us to learn. But having a friendly kaiju is going to be awesome to see, especially with how Tetsuo reacts to it.
