English Dub Review: Chained Soldier “Rampage”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
When Ren orders Kyouka to lend her Yuuki, the Supreme Commander unlocks a form befitting her power. However, even her might isn’t enough to deny Yuuki a reward.
Our Take:
The Squadrons’ training session was just getting started, but from Yuuki’s perspective, so are the rewards they’ll be giving him. This week’s episode sees Supreme Commander Ren finally getting her turn in playing with the 7th Squadron’s “slave” amidst their continuous training. Based on the previous episodes, we’ve pretty much known that Yuuki and even Kyouka will be having a difficult time with this formidable Commander, especially since she has strong connections with the higher-ups. Much like the previous episode, this one follows the routine of a Squadron member introducing a new slave form for Yuuki. However, Ren’s introduction of Yuuki’s slave form, Killer Fang, proved to be much more aggressive and uncontrollable than anticipated, prompting Ren to put him in his place.
Through Yuuki’s Killer Fang form, it further highlights the limitless capabilities Ren has possessed, but also showcases how dangerous she can be when someone rubs her the wrong way. Not to mention that Yuuki’s new form could prove to be the most risky form to master if not handled properly. But, at the end of the day, Yuuki’s “reward” still reigns supreme over the Supreme Commander, and it’s actually quite fitting, given how Ren treats her “pets”. I mean, she has to learn a lesson sooner or later, right? But, as it turns out, Ren’s superiority is now the least of our concerns, thanks to the appearance of Himari’s mother, who may be just as threatening as Ren, if not more.
