English Dub Review: Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You “Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You”

Overview:

After Shin’s proposal, Mizuho makes a decision and goes to the pool to have a heart-to-heart with Kizuki.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I’ll admit that the ending to this show was decent. It still has A LOT of problems, but it did well enough. Mizuho answered Shin’s proposal, and as you might have imagined, she said no. Mizuho is and always has been in love with Kizuki. Ya know… other than the very first episode when she confessed to the first guy she had a crush on, and it didn’t go well. They might have forgotten about bit but we didn’t!

When it comes to Mizuho and Kizuki, I would say that the ending was, at the very least, adequate. Airu got closure, and I suppose you could argue that Shin did as well. Shuugo is left out in the cold when it comes to any sort of satisfactory ending. He sort of made a move on Mizuho, but it was never really discussed again. Then Kizuki and Shuugo seemed to bury the hatchet, so maybe that was him conceding.

All my issues with this show aside, it is a rare instance of a romance anime getting an actual ending. I have to give it some credit for that, and since the main couple dated in the past, we do get a little bit of time with them as a couple as well. It might have been only in flashbacks, but it was there. I’ve got some thoughts about how I’m going to approach the season/series review, so look forward to that.
