Vergil Arrives In Devil May Cry Season Two Teaser For Netflix
The rivalry that defined a generation of gaming is coming to a boiling point on the small screen. Netflix has officially released the teaser trailer for Season 2 of Devil May Cry, and it’s asking fans to make a choice: Team Dante or Team Vergil?
Slated to premiere on May 12, 2026, the new season of the Capcom adaptation promises to dive deep into the fractured brotherhood between the legendary demon hunter Dante and his estranged twin, Vergil.
The Duel of the Century
After a debut season that established Dante’s world, Season 2 is set to ignite a “war between worlds.” The core conflict centers on Dante confronting the only force that truly mirrors his own strength—his brother.
The season isn’t just about stylish combat, though. Creator Adi Shankar has emphasized that this chapter will be deeply personal, forcing Dante to confront the “devils” of his past and the profound sense of family he lost as a child. According to Shankar, the goal for Season 2 was to avoid a predictable “comfort food” formula and instead capture the unpredictable, high-stakes energy of a 2000s-era action film franchise.
A Powerhouse Creative Team
The series continues to benefit from top-tier talent in both the voice booth and the animation studio: including Studio Mir, the renowned studio behind The Legend of Korra and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf returns to handle the high-octane animation. The cast is as follows:
-
Johnny Yong Bosch: Reprising his role as the voice of Dante.
-
Robbie Daymond: Joining the fray as the cold and calculated Vergil.
-
Scout Taylor-Compton: Returning as the fan-favorite demon hunter, Lady.
Style and Substance
Adi Shankar’s vision for Devil May Cry has always been about more than just recreating game mechanics. He’s aimed to translate the “cool factor” of the Rebellion sword and Ebony & Ivory guns into a narrative that feels heavy and consequential.
With Vergil’s reemergence, the show poses a central question: Will Dante finally lay his old demons to rest, or will he fall victim to the very shadows he’s spent his life fighting?
Mark your calendars: Devil May Cry Season 2 arrives on Netflix on May 12.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
