English Dub Review: You and I Are Polar Opposites “This Autumn…”
Overview:
The culture festival is over, and the season turns to autumn. Azuma is troubled by a message from her ex-boyfriend, and Taira defends Azuma’s feelings in her stead. Little by little, their relationship is changing.
Our Take:
Suzuki and Tani have a home date since her brother and father will be at a baseball game. It was Suzuki’s mother’s idea because I guess the men of the family would be embarrassing for Suzuki. It was nice to see them do couple things and not overly freak out about it. Sure, there was some nervousness about holding hands and hugging while alone in Suzuki’s room, but some of that is to be expected.
Where this episode shines is in what I hope is a new potential pairing: Taira and Azuma. Suzuki has already picked up on it and given them a ship name, “TaiZuma,” which is cute in its own way. I loved that Taira noticed that Azuma doesn’t exactly respect herself when it comes to previous relationships. She can never bring herself to dislike a guy she previously liked, so instead she lets them walk all over her. Taira notices this and lets her know that she deserves to be treated better, and I hope this leads to them spending more time together. But first, Taira needs to work through some of his hang-ups as well.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
