English Dub Review: You and I Are Polar Opposites “Surprise!”

Overview:

For Tani’s birthday, he and Suzuki go on a museum date. Despite being struck by crowds and other trouble, they express their feelings to each other and grow closer.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I have one negative thing to say about this show, and it happened in this episode. Tani and Suzuki go on a date, and it is as cute and sweet as you’d come to expect. At the end of the date, it looks like Suzuki is going in for a kiss, and all we get to see is her standing on her tiptoes. I took this as confirmation for the most part until they showed Tani rubbing his cheek. Did she kiss his cheek? That’s the main reason I wanted to know, because I don’t like keeping things ambiguous. They even said “I love you” to each other in this episode, so it felt like a missed opportunity.

A character I’ve become invested in is Taira. Not only do I hope that he and Azuma get together, but she even remembered his birthday! I don’t think Taira is used to having a friend group like his current one because they all legitimately care about each other. We need more shows like this. I’m glad it gets my week started right.
