English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “What to Do If Being Stuck in Writing”
Overview:
Wang Ling’s father has to write to support his family, but he lacks inspiration.
Our Take:
When Wang Ling’s father has a bad case of writer’s block, his son takes it upon himself to help solve the problem. I imagine that if I went on a trip involving a dog turning into a bus, ninjas, and almost being assassinated, that would get my creative gears turning. But I think my favorite thing about this episode is seeing a healthy and happy relationship between a father and son in an anime.
At first, Wang Ling’s father refuses the help, but he eventually relents. One of the best things about Wang Ling is how nonchalantly he reacts to wild things that happen. They hit someone with their dog bus, and when his dad freaked out, he was just like, “No, we didn’t hit anything.”
I’ve said it before, but the only thing I’m not a fan of when it comes to this show is how short each episode is. I get so absorbed in an episode, and the next thing I know, it’s over. But I suppose it’s better to be left wanting more than not wanting any in the first place.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
