English Dub Review: Sentenced to Be a Hero “Sentence: Defense Against Corruption at Mureed Fortress 1”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
A motley crew assembles for the defense of Mureed Fortress.
Our Take:
The end of last week’s episode introduced us to the latest victim of the hero sentencing: Tsav. Tsav is best described as a cheerful yet psychotic nutcase who’s arrested for murdering innocent people. Although he seems unafraid of death, Tsav is another character who knows the horror of the hero sentencing to be far worse than the death penalty. However, his impressive vision and sniping skills make him a perfect member of Xylo’s hero crew despite his talkative nature and lack of remorse.
What the series is doing right so far is making the seemingly annoying supporting characters more likable than they have any right to be, particularly regarding their backgrounds, humor, or both. I know for a fact that Teoritta has delivered some laughs despite her overzealous personality in previous episodes. Unsurprisingly, this episode is no exception, mainly through her anger that she hasn’t received a single head pat from Xylo. Perhaps she’ll finally get one towards the end of the season or, if we’re really lucky, after they survive the suicide mission. Based on this episode, I would gladly say that Tsav managed to become another example of the theory, mainly due to Ben Stegmair’s amusing vocal performance.
Along with its humor, the episode further highlights its stylized animation and solid character direction to deliver an intense beginning to this seemingly impossible sentence. However, this isn’t just due to the Demon Lord Iblis heading towards the Mureed Fortress with its army. It’s also because of a faction of humans that appear to be assisting the Demonic Blight in invading the Fortress. While killing off the demonic beings is an easy feat, it’s battling the traitors of the human race that’s going to cause some problems for Xylo and his allies.

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
