The wait for the “endgame” of the Invincible universe is almost over. Prime Video has officially released the high-octane trailer for Season 4, confirming a March 18, 2026 premiere date and unveiling the voice behind the series’ most anticipated villain.

The announcement, which coincide with the 23rd anniversary of the original comic’s debut, marks a major turning point for the series as it enters the legendary “Viltrumite War” story arc.

Lee Pace Joins the Cast as Grand Regent Thragg

The biggest reveal of the new trailer is the formal introduction of Grand Regent Thragg, voiced by Lee Pace (Foundation, The Hobbit).

Thragg is the absolute ruler of the Viltrumite Empire and widely considered the most powerful being in the Invincible canon. Having ruled through strength and cruelty for thousands of years, Thragg arrives to stabilize the dying Viltrumite race—and he views Mark Grayson’s rebellion as a threat that must be extinguished personally.

Pace, who has earned acclaim for his portrayal of the galactic emperor Brother Day in Foundation, brings a chilling authority to the role. “Thragg is a monumental addition to the show,” creator Robert Kirkman teased. “He changes everything you think you know about the Invincible universe.”

The “Viltrumite War” and New Alliances

Season 4 picks up in the bloody wake of the “Invincible War” and the devastating fight against Conquest. With Earth’s defenses shattered, Mark (Steven Yeun) realizes that playing defense is no longer an option.

Release Schedule and Production

Prime Video is sticking to a “binge-plus-weekly” rollout for the 8-episode season:

  • Premiere: Wednesday, March 18, 2026 (Episodes 1–3)

  • Weekly Drops: One episode every Wednesday through April 22, 2026.

The production cadence for the show has significantly improved, moving toward a goal of one season per year. With Season 5 already greenlit and in active development, fans won’t have to worry about another multi-year gap between chapters.
