English Dub Review: Let This Grieving Soul Retire ” I Want to Soak It Up in the Hot Springs”
Overview
Krai and the rest finally made it to the hot springs. Now he can enjoy all luxuries, or can he?
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Krai and his crew arrive at a familiar trope that’s common in most anime, the obligatory “Hot Springs” vacation, but true to form, it turns what should be simple fan service into controlled chaos. The episode leans heavily into comedic timing, misunderstandings, and absurd coincidences, with Krai once again acting as a magnet for trouble despite his best efforts to avoid it. While the bathhouse setting invites the usual genre expectations, the show subverts them slightly by prioritizing character reactions and situational comedy over excess spectacle.
Much of the episode’s humor comes from how effortlessly events spiral out of control, especially for characters trying and failing to keep things calm. Krai’s passive presence continues to warp situations around him, reinvigorating allies and frustrating rivals without him lifting a finger, while others struggle to keep pace with his unintended influence. The episode also highlights the growing gap between perception and reality within the world, as rumors, fear, and overblown reputations collide in increasingly ridiculous ways.
Overall, this is a lively and entertaining installment that embraces the series’ strengths: sharp comedic beats, escalating misunderstandings, and a protagonist whose “retirement” remains hilariously out of reach. While light on lasting development, and with the chain of events that took place (including the invasion of a group of Badits), I’m curious to see what direction this goes next!

"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
