English Dub Review: Gachiakuta “The Man Who Will Be Stronger”

Overview

As the Cleaners take stock after the battle, a convalescing Zanka receives some surprising news…

Our Take

Picking up after the previous episode, this installment shifts into a breather that focuses on the aftermath rather than action. The Cleaners regroup, reassess what went wrong, and quietly process the cost of their recent clash, giving the episode a reflective, almost slice-of-life rhythm. Small character moments, visits, conversations, and understated humor do more of the heavy lifting here, grounding the world and reinforcing bonds that were forged under pressure.

At the same time, the rest of the proceedings widens the scope, as new bits of lore, offhand revelations, and ominous planning scenes hint that what just happened was only a test run, reframing recent events as part of something much larger. The contrast works well: lighthearted downtime on one side, calculated momentum on the other, making the slower pace feel intentional rather than empty. It’s less about spectacle and more about repositioning the board, even if the structure makes the episode feel closer to a finale than a penultimate chapter.

Overall, this was a calm, character-driven cooldown that trades adrenaline for atmosphere, prioritizing recovery, reflection, and quiet setup over immediate payoff. While it’s slower, almost finale-like pacing and lingering loose ends may not land for everyone, its strength lies in reinforcing themes of growth through adversity and failure while subtly hinting at larger conflicts ahead. With one episode left, it leaves the season in an intriguing place that hopefully we’ll get some answers about in the season finale!
