English Dub Review: Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty “Lady Version: I Will Bow Out of Playing/ Rock Version: We’ll Prove We’re The Best”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Lilisa and the others gear up for their final shot to rock the Live House, resolved to take down the boy band Bacchus.

Our Take:
Lilisa’s encounter with an actual Noble Maiden didn’t go exactly the way she intended, which was understandably frustrating.  Fortunately, that anger was immediately washed away when she and the others were asked to perform at the live hall again due to audience demand.  It shows that the audience’s shocked reaction might also be considered a positive response.  While it highlights strong signs of the group’s future, it also came with a new band that they’ll be playing against in the next battle of the bands.  That band, in particular, is Bacchus, a boy band known for its arrogant content creators who only gained success through appearances and online popularity.  While Lilisa’s band may have a higher advantage regarding skill, the popularity status is another story entirely, with Bacchus’s die-hard fans already backing them up regardless of their playing skills.
It emphasizes that talent doesn’t really matter if online popularity is through the roof, which may have hit closer to home in the current state of social media.  Because Lilisa and the others are an instrumental band, they’re likely at a disadvantage against a vocal band like Bacchus.  But, of course, knowing Lilisa, she’s not the one to back down from a challenge.  Additionally, the episode showcases a tenderhearted moment that seals the sibling bond between Lilisa and Alice, highlighting Alice’s development from a cold-hearted stepsister to a full-blown supporter of Lilisa’s talent.  Regarding that moment and its reflection of hobby vs success, the penultimate episode suitably sets the stage for the ultimate musical showdown between the boys and the girls.
