Overview

With school events behind her, Sae throws herself into club activities. Just then, the date for her long-awaited movie outing with Kamishiro is set. However, a chance encounter with Kamishiro’s cousin, Subaru, leaves Sae feeling uneasy, as something Kamishiro once said about his crush comes back to her.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode,  Sae and Kamishiro begin their long-awaited movie outing while also showing how much they’ve grown, while still revealing how hesitant they are to voice their feelings. The date is filled with small, meaningful moments, with Sae’s quiet self-consciousness, Kamishiro’s earnest attempts to appear more mature, and the sweet, unspoken tension between them all handled without revealing any major plot turns. Meanwhile, Iwata’s earlier resolve subtly lingers in the background, hinting that the upcoming school festival may become a key emotional turning point for everyone involved.

Ayukawa, Sui, and Youta round out the tone of the episode by adding friendly humor, mild rivalry, and quiet support depending on the moment. Ayukawa’s calm personality contrasts nicely with Kamishiro’s earnestness, while Sui cheerfully pushes the story forward in her own way. Even their smaller interactions help shape the atmosphere, giving Sae a sense of being noticed, valued, and caught between different kinds of attention, along with a personal flaw, Kamishiro’s desire to be seen as a man.
