English Dub Review: Flower and Asura “Hana and Shura”
Overview:
The Club may have concocted a clever plan to reach Mizuki, but one formidable final boss stands in their way: Mayumi Usurai, Mizuki’s grandmother.
Our Take(Spoilers):
This show would have benefited from a second cour. I have so many questions when it comes to this episode ranging from why it ended the way it did and all the way to the title of the episode. Let’s tackle the title of the episode first. We all know who Hana is at this point, but I’ll admit I had to look up who Shura is. I assume it’s referring to Shura Saionji, the character that seems massively important but has next to no screentime. The title also insinuates that Hana and her have a connection or, at the very least, will have an interaction in the episode. Once again, though, she’s barely shown other than being announced as the victor in something.
This leads to the other problem, which is how the episode ended. The Shura Saionji thing bleeds into it a bit as well. It felt like we were left wanting more, which in some ways is the idea of an anime, but this felt like more of a tease than something I’ve watched recently. Hana and the club did their best, and luckily, Mizuki’s brother isn’t a dick and helped them find her. But it’s hard to believe that reading a poem in front of someone would convince them to change their mind when they seem like the most stubborn old person ever. I’ll get into it more with my season review, but if you’ve been following this show, I understand if you feel disappointed.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
