JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run Anime Adaptation Announced
The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the manga’s seventh part, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, has been officially announced and will be coming to Netflix. The announcement was made as part of the 10th-anniversary celebration of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime.
The series will be produced by David Production, the same studio that has animated all previous parts of the franchise. While a specific release date has not yet been set, new information is expected to be revealed during a special live stream on September 23, 2025.
Steel Ball Run is set in the United States in the year 1890 and is a reboot of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series. It follows a transcontinental horse race across North America with a grand prize of $50 million. The story centers on two main characters: Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic former jockey, and Gyro Zeppeli, a disgraced executioner who utilizes a unique ability called the “Spin” with his steel balls. The two form an alliance as they compete in the brutal race and uncover a deeper conspiracy.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
