English Dub Review: Gachiakuta “Cleaner HQ”
Overview
After being introduced to Cleaner HQ, Rudo follows Riyo on a job to learn the business…
Our Take
Rudo’s arrival at Cleaner HQ throws him into a world that’s far more complex and chaotic than anything he imagined. Between eccentric co-workers, colorful personalities, and the organizational structure of the Cleaners, he’s forced to adapt quickly. From the flamboyant receptionist Semiu to the mysterious leader no one has met, there’s more going on beneath the surface than flashy fights and monster clean-up. Rudo’s uncertainty and awkwardness are present, but so is the curiosity he sparks in others.
The rest of the proceedings introduce a wider ensemble, each with distinctive visual flair and quirks, but it’s Riyo who truly shines. Calm under pressure and deadly with her unconventional fighting style, she leaves a lasting impression while offering Rudo both mentorship and a sharp reality check. The show continues expanding its world organically, revealing how both combatants and non-combatants contribute to operations, all while teasing deeper layers of its world-building and character dynamics.
Overall, this episode hits a strong balance between action, humor, and introspection. The clean animation and creative fight choreography elevate the excitement, while quieter moments deepen character development, especially Rudo’s internal journey. Rather than rushing ahead, the story takes its time to ground its cast and setting, letting each introduction its proper breathing room. With rising threats and character arcs slowly taking shape, it’s clear the series is laying thoughtful groundwork for something far more ambitious.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
