English Dub Review: A Couple of Cuckoos “It’s My Life, Too!”

Overview:

The world now knows the face of singer Mochizuki Ai, who created the song “Arc Fault.”

Our Take:

I just finished reviewing Rent-a-Girlfriend, and it looks like some toxic people are in this show, too. Ai decided to play dirty to make her feelings for Nagi known. She leaked who he was and the school he attends to the media. She did this because now if he rebuffs her advances, he stands to have the whole world hate him. Talk about playing dirty! This made Hiro upset, too, because she thought Nagi was in on it and felt taken advantage of. She didn’t listen to what Nagi had to say. Instead, she kissed him on the cheek and asked him to never talk to her again.

That’s two examples of toxic behavior in the characters here, and if I were Nagi, I’d be done with both of them. I remember being Team Hiro at first, but now I think she can kick rocks. All of this excitement led to a meeting with Sachi, Erika, and Erika’s mom. Erika’s mother has a plan to make all this bad press go away, but I can’t tell what it is yet. Instead, she sent Nagi and Erika to a penthouse to live alone for two weeks with nothing but each other for entertainment. I think she’s trying to get them to bang, but anime like this don’t usually progress that fast.

Error happened.
