Review: Grimsburg “The Undies”

Overview

Flute tries to win this year’s Undies Award for best undercover operation.

Our Take

How about a gang of pregnant power pushers to kick things off for this week’s episode of Grimsburg. Episode writer Elizabeth Tippet returns to the fray after a more-than-solid episode that had debuted earlier this season called Grandaddy Issues”, this time with an awards bit that somewhat gets constructed not unlike Tropic Thunder and sticks the landing as a result.

Meanwhile, we’re getting an increasingly regular dose of Otis Volcanowitz voiced by Martin Short who works with Wynona in trying to help spend the department’s $8000 or they’ll lose it that I think does more to help increase the bond between Otis and some of other ancillary characters more than anything else because I think The Office did this bit better in the famous “The Surplus” episode so to truly set this episode’s premise apart from that I think I would’ve had to have seen a bit more meat on the bone.

Fortunately, I was more than entertained with Flute’s undercover racket that I think that more than helps this week’s episode stay in the green for me and could’ve seen an argument to be made to just have the whole episode be about this and maybe rather than incorporate Otis I would’ve preferred to have seen a little more how Flute’s new persona would’ve gone over with the rest of his family.
