English Dub Review: Teogonia “To Ispi Rio”

Overview:

Kai and Nada fight for their lives while Lag Village defends itself from another macaque attack.

Our Take:

This is the first time I’ve sat and watched the ending to this show and maybe if I had before I wouldn’t be saying all this “maybe it’s an isekai”. It’s definitely an isekai because they show Kai in a modern day setting wearing modern day clothing. Now, I don’t know why it gets shown with so much relevance if it’s not going to affect the story. So if I had to guess I would imagine it’s going to become important at some point but maybe that’s this story’s way of showing how “special” Kai is and that’s the only important part.

When we last left Kai he had been stabbed in the back (both literally and figuratively) by Nada the priest. He attempted to remove Kai’s godstone but Kai was able to fight him off long enough for the macaque’s to attack and they were forced to work together. Nada had to heal Kai up first and then helped him take on the attackers. Kai learning to use his wind slice ability has opened things up for him. He sliced through the macaques like butter but Nada was mortally wounded in the battle and died. I’m curious if Kai is going to consume his godstone now.
